Enable Image Editor – Performance Edition
Overview
Photo Uploader can help edit your uploaded Images to be uniform in formating with the Image Editor. It is available with the Performance Edition and additional setup. Since Photo Uploader runs natively within Salesforce, the Image Editor is not enabled automatically.
To protect your org’s security, Photo Uploader requires a System Administrator to explicitly grant access to the external image-processing service used by the Image Editor by adding the required endpoint to Remote Site Settings.
If this access has not been granted, the Image Editor will fail to load and display an error message. Setting up the Remote Site Settings up will resolve the error message displaying.
Enable the Remote API Site
You will add Photo Uploader’s API endpoint as a Remote Site in Salesforce.
1. Open Salesforce Setup
- Log in to Salesforce.
- Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner.
- Select Setup.

2. Navigate to Remote Site Settings
- In the Quick Find search box, type Remote Site Settings.
- Select Remote Site Settings under Security.

3. Add a New Remote Site
- Click New Remote Site.
- Enter the following values:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Remote Site Name | PhotoUploader_API |
| Remote Site URL | https://api.photouploader.app/image |
| Description | Required for Photo Uploader Image Editor |
Note: You can use your own Name or Description to be more clear.
- Click Save.

Verify Access
After saving the Remote Site:
- Navigate back to a record that uses Photo Uploader.
- Open an image.
- Click Edit Image.
- Confirm the Image Editor loads with no error message and works as expected for Users with access.
Error Message
The Image Editor requires access to the external image-processing API. If Salesforce does not have permission to access this external endpoint, Salesforce blocks the request. When attempting to edit an image using the Photo Uploader Image Editor, you may see an error message similar to:
Photo Uploader: Unauthorized endpoint, please check Steup-> Security->Remote site settings. endpoint= https://api.photouploader.app/image Image Upload Error
When this happens, image edits cannot be saved and the editor will not function correctly. Follow the directions above to enable the endpoint.
